Yoyo was only 6-months old when he was taken to the vets with a leg injury. He had been involved in an accident and broken 2 bones in his leg. His guardians did not intend to have Yoyo operated on and he was left behind at the vets. Fortunately volunteers from a local dog shelter namely, Brigada Animalista were visiting the vets with another dog. As soon as they saw Yoyo their hearts melted and they intervened - they couldn't leave this poor guy to his fate. They adopted Yoyo and took him back to the shelter. He has since had surgery and is doing really well with his recovery.

The proceeds from Yoyo's portrait are shared with Friends of Animals - a charity in The Netherlands raising funds to help various Spannish dog sanctuaries (including Brigada Animalista, Yoyo's rescue centre).
