De Kerkuil was found injured and was brought to Flappus in 2024. Being a wild bird, I had to be very careful not to frighten her - I admired her from distance. She seemed very contented at the sanctuary, sitting quietly on a tree in an enclosed outdoor space. De Kerkuil has since regained her freedom, as she was released back into the wild as soon as she recovered from the injury.
